AMAZE

A name that is reminiscent of the word Amazônia, a region of Brazil globally renowned for its lush fauna and flora. Despite the name of the wine being English – Amaze –, it is genuinely Brazilian, as the translation to Portuguese is “surprender, maravilhar”, that is surprise or astonish.
Even the label has a background that is the union of a number of concepts inspired by figures central to the Brazilian modernist painting movement and also by sculpture mosaics and artists that produce interventions in public spaces in the country’s capitals,

such as the famous Copacabana sidewalk. The leading elements are the Toucan and other brazilian birds, which reside chiefly in the northern region of the country, but which can be found throughout practically the entire nation.
The details in strokes, colors and themes are typically tropical and Brazilian, with added refinement in its form, creating perfect harmony between the glamour of wine and the laidback attitude of the Brazilian people, and simply enchanting wine lovers.

Life in Harmony

The history of Garibaldi Winery Cooperative is intimately linked to the history of its associates. It was founded in 1931 by small- scale farmers, descended from Italian immigrants, who, through dedication and preservation, developed the local wine industry. It is located in the very heart of the Serra Gaúcha highlands – Brazil’s largest wine producing region –, more specifically in the city of Garibaldi, some 120 km from Porto Alegre.
Grapes and their derivatives have always been the Cooperative’s business focus. But since the outset, the spirit of cooperativism has been geared towards people, the leading characters in building this ideal and this brand. Nowadays, Garibaldi presents a traditional and modern sustainability concept, preparing high quality products that are

in line with consumer demands while ensuring complete respect for the ecosystem. The results of this care are a series of awards won throughout Brazil and the rest of the world.
The Cooperative has associates in 12 different cities from the highland region, with the main vineyards in Bento Gonçalves (Vale dos Vinhedos), Pinto Bandeira, Farroupilha, Monte Belo do Sul and especially Garibaldi. By summing the particularities of each region, we are able to produce wines that express the diversity of Brazil. They are all monitored throughout the whole year by a team of enologists and agronomists. Thanks to the care right from the outset of production, we are able to present growth rates higher than the national average.

TERROIR OF SERRA GAUCHA

The most important wine region of Brazil, responsible for some 85% of national production, covering an area of 400 square kilometers. The region has basaltic soil and a temperate climate, with temperature extremes that vary from -4°C to 32°C. Consequentially, it has a rigorous winter, with the

possibility of snow, and hot summers, as well as four clearly defined seasons. Furthermore, during the vintage period, the thermal amplitude (cold nights and hot days) is a very significant factor, benefiting the maturation of the grapes. The altitude of the vineyards varies between 400 and 800 meters.
